Saglemi Revival: First 700 Homes Targeted for March 2027

The long-stalled project has a new delivery timetable—and a major test of public-private housing execution.

What changed

On 21 August, the Presidency reported that the first 700 homes under the revived Saglemi programme are scheduled for completion and sale by March 2027. LMI Holdings has committed to the delivery, with the remaining 800 units in the 1,500-unit first phase targeted for December 2027.

Why it matters

Saglemi has become a national symbol of the cost of stalled construction. A credible restart could add badly needed supply, preserve value already sunk into the site and demonstrate how government and private developers can restructure incomplete projects. The milestones also create a clear basis for public accountability.

What is still unknown to buyers

A completion announcement is not the same as a complete buyer offer. Prospective purchasers still need confirmed unit mixes, final prices, eligibility criteria, mortgage partners, service charges, handover standards, title arrangements and the exact sales process. Until those are formally published, buyers should avoid unofficial reservation payments.

Market implications

If the first 700 units reach the market on schedule, the project could stimulate demand and services around Prampram and the wider Ningo-Prampram corridor. It may also create competition for mid-market developers in Greater Accra, especially if financing is attached to the units.

Watch list

Track physical completion, independent quality checks, utility connections, access roads and the release of official sales documentation. The key question is not only whether buildings are finished, but whether residents can occupy a functioning community.
